Perception of virtual education

 By HERMAN PEDRAZA DIAZ

Introduction

An aspiring scholar, hunched over their laptop, typing away furiously as they delve into the depths of knowledge and learning. The glow of the screen illuminates their determined expression, highlighting their passion for education.Virtual education is a modality of education that has become more relevant today, as the spread of the internet and accessibility to new ways of accessing information and thus education, is an opportunity we are currently afforded. This modality presents some challenges for those involved in the educational process, as it requires students to be autonomous in their learning, teachers to implement strategies appropriate to the virtual context, and educational institutions, as well as the government, require policies and dynamics that encourage access to and retention in this educational model.

Positive aspects

A young student sitting at a computer, surrounded by books and notes, lost in concentration as they study for their exams. There is a book that has Communicative Competencies written in it.

Among the benefits of virtual education, we can say that it helps us with time management, study options and even a lower financial investment to develop this educational process. Furthermore, it allows us to access a variety of study options, even outside our national territory, thus presenting careers and specialties not offered in our region. Included in this benefit is also the opportunity to interact with people from other cultures and backgrounds.

A cluttered student sitting in front of a computer, surrounded by scattered papers, notebooks, and empty coffee cups, with a look of distraction on their face, gazing down at their cellphone in their hand, the screen casting a faint blue glow on their skin, with a mix of messy brown hair falling across their forehead, and a few days' worth of stubble on their chin, wearing a worn-out t-shirt and ripped jeans, the computer screen behind them displaying a half-completed assignment, amidst a chaotic backdrop of a dimly lit, cluttered dorm room with posters and photographs plastered on the walls, and a few forgotten snacks scattered around the desk.

Negative aspects

The negative aspect of virtual education is the lack of study habits, as deadlines for submitting assignments and activity assessments are sometimes missed. Furthermore, we may end up not dedicating the necessary time to fulfilling the activity requirements, doing only the bare minimum, which isn't ideal in a learning process, especially when you're dedicated to teaching, as I am.

Personal view and Conclusion

My opinion of virtual education is that this modality has presented many opportunities for study and work. It has also allowed me to learn new ways of teaching that are more in line with the needs and opportunities of the global educational environment.

In conclusion, virtual education presents itself as a new way of accessing learning and teaching processes, allowing students and teachers to build a learning environment where motivation and willingness are essential to achieving the expectations of the educational process being developed.

Why Do We Still Resort to Physical Punishment as a Way to Educate Children?

By Katherine Silva Morales The topic I chose for this article is highly controversial. Physical punishment of children has been practiced for generations. However, rather than simply asking if it is right or wrong, in this article I would like to explore why some parents continue to use it, and what can be done to change that pattern. Positive aspects In my personal opinion, there is no valid excuse to continue using physical punishment as a form of education. But, Why Some Parents Still Use Physical Punishment? Parents should be able to raise children without fear. But a combination of cultural beliefs, stress, and misinformation makes it difficult to break away from violent habits. Some beliefs and justifications: Perceived Effectiveness Parenting Patterns Cultural Beliefs   Emotional Relief Control  Negative aspects Some consequences of corporal punishment: Negative Effects on Mental Health Behavioral Problems Developmental Impact   Cycle of Violence   Person...
